OMG OMG OMG

It's a boy!! If you didn't know that read the post below...

I just want to scream...i never thought i could get this excited. I mean i WANTED a girl..ask anyone that is what i wanted. I think I just didn't know how i'd actually feel about having a boy. Plus part of me was convinced Rick only shot X's.

Anyway... I sat through my 'Hot Mama's' meeting ( a group of women in charge of the charity donations for our Mom's League Gala) with visions of trucks and planes and an airplane nursery complete with clouds... then i can't help but think of kisses and rocks and bugs and all the things boys bring home. I hope he has Rick's strait out of his head crazy hair... and his long thick eyelashes ( Bel got those) and I hope he has his daddies dimples.

A boy....i don't think i knew i could be this excited. Pierce...i think he already has my heart wrapped around his tiny hands...

And I thought I didn't like surprises!

Our day started with the usual breakfast, playing, and of course reading a book in the toy basket.

What can I say..that is my girl:) She is quite content as long as you let her sit in her toy basket..who would have guessed.

Oh and somewhere between playing and us getting ready to leave she got a fat lip...not sure how but it is there.

So our appointment was at 1:15 and surprisingly we didn't have to wait 5 hours before being seen. That is the longest we've ever waited so we went expecting the worst and dreading it given the appointment fell during Bel's nap. Surprise surprise we were shocked when we were in and out in 2 hours! That is a great day!
This is our friend Melanie. She was our genetic counselor and became a friend. She lives not too far from Pop's lake house so we hope to hang out lots with her this summer! She and her husband are expecting their first baby in August!! Yay for built in playmates!

Dr. T...he is the one who watched over Annelise and the sole reason she lived as long as she did then he made sure we got Bel here and has done the same for new baby! We heart Dr. T and Bella loves him too. She was flirting up a storm!

So before the dreaded amnio they always do a super high level ultrasound. They checked the heart, kidneys, lungs, placenta ( which thankfully has moved up) so the spotting should stop soon, brain, all the ventricles and arteries, umbilical cord and where it inserts, all the important mess. That took a good 45 minutes. Then the part where they confirm it is a girl...yeah we were ready with ' we already knew that' when we heard...

"There's his winky"... at that point we both said 'Huh and a bewildered what?" So after a few more reassuring looks between the boys legs we can confirm Pierce Stephen will arrive in June. He is a perfectly healthy boy and we couldn't be more shocked or more happy!! Shocked though...seriously! For the last 6 weeks we've been told it was a girl and I have shopped accordingly. So this weekend we will be headed to the mall to un-shop all of baby girls outfits. Yes, in one second my vision of matching bow babies flew out the window and I am so ready to buy rocker tees and cool baby boy clothes!! So excited! Rick even gave me permission to buy him his first pair of converse!! A boy..who would have guessed. A healthy boy...a dream come true! And i always said i didn't like to be surprised...wow how today has proved me wrong!

This will be the first boy in this generation to carry our last name so it is kind of cool. Since Rick has only one girl cousin it was up to him and Jeff to have at least one boy...now the pressure is off! Plus poor baby N was the only boy to play with all the girls...it was time to start evening things out! I have a feeling cousin N and Pierce will be fast friends!

On my side there is only Garrison so he is extremely happy to have a boy partner in crime! However, i will have to bribe him. I made the mistake of saying "yes if it is a boy you can name him' mostly because I KNEW it was a girl and wasn't going to have to worry about it. So he has named the baby Ockmed ( i don't even know how to spell it). Surely I can bribe him with a webkin or Wii game or something...i cannot name him Ockmed....ugh!

Oh and because the ultrasound looked so fabulous and Pierce is growing nicely they've put off the amnio until we either find reason on our next ultrasound(doubtful) or we have to make sure his lungs are ready in the event of another battle with pre-eclampsia.

Oh and i lost the pound I gained yesterday so effectually this boy hasn't placed an extra pound on me...i do have a feeling that will change though! ( He weighs 7oz currently) Plus my blood pressure was extra good ( even better than yesterday) so if that stays the same then I have no more visits with Dr. T and will go on being a regular normal pregnant lady...ahh such a good day.

I'm going to be a mom...of a boy...a healthy baby boy...could my life get any better?

Holy Moly...It's a BOY!

1/7/09

Really? Again....Seriously?

Yep...those were my exact words at my doctors appointment this morning. First off...Baby looks fine. I've only gained 1 lb, a miracle given the insane amount of cookies I consumed over the holidays, and my blood pressure was good. Even better news since this it the time frame I usually start to see it creep up and Dr. R gives me the spiel. I am 20ish weeks by my new due date and 17w3days by the one I go by. Why because it is proven i have big babies so they never 'measure' true to their dates. I know this because Bella was a fertility baby ( i e planned to the minute) but they kept moving my due date up because she was SO big. So history repeats and they keep trying to do that with JuneBug too. This time I'VE learned my lesson and will not be induced which is what lead to all the amnios for Bel because her lungs weren't ready even though she was 'overdue'.

So that brings us to today's appointment and my stunned reaction. Ugh...sigh. Looks like another amnio is in our future. I SWORE i would never do it again...NEVER. BUT and that is a big BUT it looks like tomorrow is the big day. I am scheduled for an amnio tomorrow and with this propelled back into the 'high risk' category. A place I hoped I wouldn't be back in.

Honestly... this pregnancy has gone so well compared to the others. Aside from some spotting (they'll check my placenta tomorrow too) i really felt like this was going to be my first normal pregnancy. Even the morning sickness was manageble this time. Ahh..at least we get tons of ultrasounds. I mean after all it wasn't until yesterday I really felt huge and cumbersome...

So if you are the praying type say a few for us. Even though amnio is a relatively safe procedure (and we have the BEST most sought after maternal-fetal specialist in the state) there is still always a risk for miscarrage, which scares the hell out of me. So say a quick prayer, we could use them.

On the bright side we will find out definitively the sex and maybe the hunt for a girl name was in vain...we do have a fabulous boy name we'd love to use one day. And on an even brighter side we found out today that we owe NOTHING to the doctor or hospital for this kidlet. NOTHING!! Crazy! I was so dumbfounded by that it almost washed away my anxiety from hearing i have to have the amnio tomorrow. Sigh. Silver linings and all that..i'm TRYING to be positive although I think I kind of suck at it.

The owing nothing is funny to me. Interesting how insurance is so different but that is a separate argument/ vent all together. You would die if you knew how much we used to pay a month for crappy insurance...ugh it makes me sick just to think about it.

Out of meanness or principle or something i'm not so sure has a name, I find it hard to swallow i have to pay for a baby i didnt get to bring home. I think they should right- off the bill if you lose your kid in their hospital. It doesn't happen that often and it is minimal to the amount htey bring in... Yes, i know a service was provided, whatever, i still feel like I am getting crapped all over every time i make a payment for the insanely overpriced services. So i pay the minimum $10 a month and will do so, well Bella will probably still be paying it when her kids have kids, until it is paid off. And i honestly don't feel bad about it. It is the one last thing that holds us to Annelise. Random right...maybe I just told the world I am not over losing her but hey...i don't guess I am. Plus going through what we went through with her, again today ( damn de ja vu) , just makes the feeling fresh again. Only now I feel even more jipped because I know what could have been. Or have a glimpse of it every time I look at Bel.

Damn the emotions..they get me every time. I will say when Dr. R told me i'd have to have another amnio I didn't use any expletives...so see, I am growing. Kind of. I did think them though. Sigh.

So say some prayers for a safe amnio procedure and a healthy baby.

Oh and more positive thoughts...we'll have a baby complete with a name by the end of the day tomorrow!! That is VERY good news!

New Poll...

Okay...just when we thought we decided on a girl name...we can't.

GRRR

So there is another poll...help us decide!

Doctor Doctor Doctor

So that has been the theme for this week. I went, Bella's gone, I went again. Ugh.

So baby is doing well. I had my regular appointment today and things look good. They even moved my due date up a week...yay! Also, Monday we had an ultrasound (you knew that though) and the lady told us girl. Today Dr. R said boy...so we still don't know. Which is good because we didn't want to know to begin with. I guess it is just one of those things. Everyone finds out these days so people just go blurting it out. I told Dr. R it was going to be a surprise and we didn't want it blurted out until June. So she agreed but laughed and said...I hope I can keep a secret. She's so funny. We found out about this time with Bella, crazy huh? So i'm not sure who to believe. I still think girl and Rick has changed to boy...so it is any ones guess!

I think we are coming closer to a girls name. Or at least narrowing the list down from 30 to 3-4. I'm really stuck though. I love Mallory, Emerson( we'll call her Emme), Sydney and Aubrianna. Rick loves Mackenzie, Claire( which we agree will be a nice middle name), and Madeline( but we won't call her Maddy). Caroline is still in the running, as is Amelia(Mia) and Lillian. Grr who knew it would be so hard. Okay so maybe we just narrowed it down to 10 or so. The boys name is still done, which is nice. Plus we both love it which is just a bonus.
At least we have a few more months to decide!

Bella made a trek to the doctor too. I guess we really wanted to test our new insurance policy. She has a cold, icky snot and barky cough. Nothing contagious just annoying. Hopefully she is on the upswing now. I love her doctor. Most of my playgroup uses the practice and I cannot say enough good things. He is just so...down to earth. He is nice and answers all my crazy overprotective paranoid first mom questions without laughing or looking down on me. He's full of useful information and overall just nice. I never feel rushed or anything. Good doctors are so hard to find...i feel lucky. An added bonus Bella loves his nurse. She is a doll and Bella lunges when she sees her, even though she is the one to give shots.

So since this is the week of doctors next week we are going to try and cut back. No doctor visits for any of us! We won't have time anyway! We have Christmas shopping and baking to do! Yay for the holidays!!

Ultrasound...updated

is at 11:30...i'll update as soon as we know one way or the other. Geez..i really hate this.

Update...

So things are doing well. Junebug is cooperating and moving around like a mad person. Good news. Heartbeat is 162 and measuring a few days ahead. Nothing drastic but it does mean i am more pregnant than originally thought and it will take less time to meet the kid.

Officially I am now in my second trimester, thank goodness, but still spotting. I have a giant sized cyst that is probably the culprit of both the spotting and crazy pain I've been having so I will see Dr. R on Wednesday to figure out what to do about that.

Anyhow...thanks for the prayers. All looks good for now and as soon as I can figure out the scanner I will upload pictures of the hitchhiker...he/she is really cute by the way:)

11/28/08

Too good to be true...

I have a lovely Thanksgiving post...we had a wonderful time...but for now...

I knew i should have never said "this has been an easy pregnancy". I bit myself in the ass...for lack of better words.
The last few days have been SUPER SUPER busy. I've been on my feet and not taking it the least bit easy, and today I started spotting. Thank goodness for the lovely doppler! Junebug's heart is currently beating at 168 beats per minute. Yay for small blessings I don't know what I would do with out the doppler. Hold it...yes I do...we'd be sitting our turkey stuffed selves in the ER with the drunks waiting for an ultrasound to make sure everything is okay.

At any rate it is scary to see any spot of any kind. Dr. R has prescribed bed rest until my appointment next week. So no more shopping, we got great deals today and actually had a lot of fun. Also I was REALLY looking forward to spending Sunday with Brandi helping her with her Santa pictures. Oh well.
So say a few prayers for a healthy ultrasound next week and an end to the spotting...it does nothing for my sanity.
I feel confident that things will be okay. I spotted with Bella, they say it is more common with girls because for the extra estrogen, we will see on that one though. Plus all the extra hormones they continue to shoot me up with irritates things so that plays a part too, and the fact I haven't been resting properly. So now I rest...at least until Rick leaves Tuesday for Detroit...cest le vie.

Pop Quiz

So in my stress induced insomnia i was watching the fan spin when I started doing some math....

I've been pregnant a lot....
Pregnancy 1...a boy lost at 11 weeks 5 days ( we had testing done and found out the sex)
Pregnancy 2...Annelise 33 weeks 3 days
Pregnancy 3...lost at 6 weeks 4 days
Pregnancy 4...Bella 37 weeks 1 day
and Pregnancy 5...Junebug 12 weeks and counting

Total so far is 100 weeks 6 days pregnant in 4 years...no wonder I am huge already.

That is a totally scary thought...of our 4 year marriage I have been pregnant almost 2 years of it. Yikes. I need cake. Chocolate cake. Lots of it. I don't know whether to laugh or cry...

Go Vote!!

Check out the poll on the right side of the screen...we need your help.

So we both like Annalee ( pronounced ON-A-LEE) but suddenly figured it might be too close to Annelise. (ANN-E-Lise) Not that it would be a bad thing just not sure if we want to trudge down that road. And the middle name is still up in the air but we have it down to 2 names...Claire or Kay. We have always liked the Lee, it is my sisters middle name and my great aunts but we don't like Lee by itself...it needs some pizazz you know!

We do have a boy name picked...it is a secret but we both LOVE it and it isn't Zane for all of you who knew that was our choice for Bella, should she have a penis. The middle name is Stephen but no big surprise there:)

So go vote and help us figure out this girl name thing...

11/5/08

Oh yeah and one more thing

We've come to a decision! A HUGE BIG TOTALLY out of character for us decision!

Junebug is going to be a SURPRISE!! Yep, everything from his/her name to his/her gender will have to wait until June!! Crazy huh?

See we are planners(ok so I am a planner). Complete planners but...

this just might be our last baby. Or at least the last baby that I spring out. So while we want more kids it will be at least 5 or so years after this one which is a long time to wait to start over again...so this just might be it. Who knows? We'll see if we feel like a 'complete' family after the baby gets here. If we do then great, if not then adoption has always been on our mind and such a great option!

Anyhow...we decided to wait and find out. My guess girl. Ricks guess girl also although I know he is hoping for a boy!

So that is our news...we are nuts but Junebug has caught us off-guard from the beginning so the guesses might as well keep on coming!

We are taking helpful hints on names. We have an idea of a boys name ( something with Stephen but no definite other than that) but no clue on a girl. Currently we are stuck on Amelia but will call her Mia...but neither of us is in love...you know? So if you hear any cool names send them our way...we don't have loads of time left to choose and coming from the people that took 9 months to buy a couch we need all the time we can get to name a kid!!

Life in general

is green. Yep, that is the only description I can think of. Bella is of course perfect, it is me who is green.

I've been every shade of green, sea foam ( not pretty but pre-bathroom floor), sort of mint which is my best green. That is when i can move and function without puking. Lime which is on the brink of puke...as in GET OUT OF MY WAY and watch your shoes. Then boogie green which is my standard green after I've ruined my shoes (or yours) in the parking lot of half price books. Yep, green is so not my color.

Thank God i am beyond being embarrassed or today would have been the most mortifying experience of my life. Bella and I went to baby group, always fun, and made a keepsake for her 1 year milestone. ( My anniversary gift from Rick, kinda lame since last year he gave me a baby:)!!) We left and i wanted, craved, NEEDED Whataburger. I HATE Whataburger but every time I am invaded by a hitchhiker I CRAVE it...maybe it is the extra x's hanging around ( total speculation but my guess is girl for this one too). So I drove 20 minutes out of my way to fulfill my NEED ( yes mom I NEEDED it not just wanted it, it was life or death i swear) and ended up by half price books, one of my favorite stores! I read A LOT, like 2-3 books a week, depending on how good they are and how busy i am with Bellabowz, so Half Price books is my friend. Though I really should get a library card. Anyway so we finished our lunch and headed to book shop. Only as soon as got Bel strapped in her stroller all hell broke loose in my tummy. I turned from mint to boogie green in a matter of seconds. So the only right thing to do was avoid Bella, i turned the other way and puked on an unsuspecting man's shoe & tire. More tire than shoe, thank GOD! Yes this is my life. He looked horrified but as the tears rolled down my face he was more mortified at dealing with an inconsolable crying puking woman with a baby. So as i apologized profusely while crying he RAN in the opposite direction.

Seriously...what do you say? I wish i could just hide until this all day sickness was over but since Bella likes her play dates and activity it really isn't an option. So far I've only had one day this week ( yes i know it is only Wednesday, don't remind me) where getting out of bed just wasn't going to happen. Thankfully Bel was having teeth issues that day and didn't feel like doing much either!

Hopefully tomorrow will be a mint green kind of day!

I'm kerflummoxed...

How could a tiny thing like June bug, I mean currently he/she is the size of a grain of rice, be able to make my life so horrible?

Grr...i have mentioned I am the worst pregnant person ever! EVER. I don't complain in real life, it just isn't worth it( no one wants to hear how awful it really is. They all want the being pregnant is the best gift, like rainbows and slippyslides). In real life with Bella I just hibernated the entire 9 months. I only surfaced for important things like work and some shopping, other than that i stayed in bed or with my head in the toilet. I puked driving to work, in every bathroom the building had to offer, and coming home from work. Then i would go to my bed and lay there and fall asleep around 7 everyday. Let me tell you I was buckets o'fun. On the weekends I would make Rick drive me to the lake so my mom and dad would take care of me, sad. Very sad.

How could i so easily forgotten how horrible it really was. Aside from being told i need to gain some weight and getting to eat desert when i felt like eating at all, there really was no up side. Believe it or not between losing 30lbs in the first and second trimesters I only gained 8lbs with Annelise ( she weighed 3lbs.5oz) and 9lbs with Bel( she weighed 8lbs.2oz). I was MUCH more sick with Bel but with the extra 45lbs of depression weight i gained between the 2 girls it wasn't such an issue to not gain a ton of weight!

So here we are again, crazy hormones, nausea and puking...am I an idiot? I signed myself up for this! Only this time Bel still requires a mommy so no hibernating for me....

10/23/08

Bella here and I have hijacked mom's blog!

Hi Guys!

With my new found independence I thought it was time to write my own post! See I am a big girl now!
I can walk and carry my bunny with me! How cool is that?
I was talking with Bunny and we decided mommy and daddy were holding out on you blog readers! I told them that if you read my blog then you had a right to know MY big news!! You want to know? Mom says it is still early and that they need prayers so I figured you guys could help with that! So....

I AM GOING TO BE A BIG SISTER!! How fun is that!! We all went to visit Dr. R today and everything looks great! She still says I am the cutest baby she's ever delivered, I really like Dr. R! Mom and dad were planning this new 'Junebug' but we're surprised it happened so fast! So I guess they learned even when you plan something it can still take you by surprise! Mommy has been on all her medicines since August so this baby has been well taken care of! In August Dr. R said it wouldn't take so long for her to see mom again and boy was she was right! I guess mom and dad deserved a break since it took them so long to get me! I was worth the wait but I am glad it didn't take them 3 years to have a new baby this time!
Our new baby will be joining us around June 16th, 2009. I'll just be 18 months old but mommy and daddy knew I wanted a playmate close in age so this will be perfect! They call the baby 'June bug' because they call me 'love bug'! Now we have a whole bug family!
I took some time to show the new baby the toys I will share with it! We have great toys!! I particularly LOVE my new zebra! You can ride it, you can bounce on it, and you can stand in front of it and dance to the music! It is a fabulous toy!!

I am very excited about 'Junebug'! I decided to give it a kiss! It will have to find a bunny of its own though, i am not ready to share her! Mommy and daddy are excited too! A little scared because it is so early but so far everything looks good and we saw a tiny flickering heartbeat today which lowers the odds of miscarriage a lot! So that is good news! If you could all say some prayers for this baby to stick around that would be great! Your prayers worked so well for my Poppy, the doctors call him a walking miracle, so I know they'll work for our 'Junebug' too!

Thanks dad for making me a big sister!! Now you'll have two babies to wrestle with!!
I can't wait to teach 'Junebug' everything I know! I'll teach the baby to sleep through the night, to crawl and walk, to give great kisses, and how to torment the puppies by throwing balls where only we can go and get them! I can't wait to be a big sister!!

Oh and a BIG thanks to Grandma for all the fun new clothes!! I really needed some cute play clothes!!

Love,
Bella

P.S: Say some extra prayers for mommy too! Junebug is a lot like me already and mom is horribly sick! She said she was sick the entire time she was pregnant with me (and knows all the 'good' bathrooms in the metroplex if you have to put your head in one! She highly recommends Nordstoms by the way!) and it looks like it is happening again!!
